On the menu: sushi rolls, miso soup, salad, gyoza,... I am a fan of sushi. Today, I tried the sushi buffet for 199,000 VND (excluding tax). The menu was quite complete, with sushi rolls, miso soup, salad, gyoza and much more. For dessert, there was yogurt and fruit. The food was delicious and came out quickly. It is excellent value for money. It is a great place to go with friends or family!
Upon my return after a long absence, I was surprised to notice the decline in the quality of the dishes. The meat had an unappetizing appearance, and the other dishes were so bad that I wondered if this was a Japanese restaurant. Despite the holidays, there was almost no one there, and the dishes took forever to arrive, with some never arriving at all. It seems the establishment is struggling due to global inflation and rising prices.
My experience was rather bad. First of all, the service was disappointing. When I ordered the crab dish, the staff simply brought the stove and the plate, then left without explaining anything. I didn't even know what...
The staff forgot to bring some dishes we ordered, but since the buffet is offered from 299,000 IDR and there is a wide selection of dishes, it's hard to complain. In the end, it was still a good meal and excellent value for money.
The service was exceptional, the dishes remarkably fresh and of high quality. A price much lower than what I would have paid in Canada for a meal of the same quality.
A truly meaningful birthday night with loved ones at Yen restaurant. The staff here are very thoughtful and enthusiastic. The space is truly wonderful for hosting a birthday party.
delicious food, enthusiastic staff
I'm not criticizing the staff at all, but is the owner of Yen still truly the same owner of Yen from 1, 2, 3 years ago? I've been eating at Yen for a long time, but this visit was really different. The 349k buffet package (before tax) has almost been cut down to nothing; if you choose the cheapest buffet package, there's basically nothing to eat. Whether you order 1 portion or 4-5 portions of the same dish, the quantity is the same—they put it all on one plate and drench it with sauce (clearly, in the menu, some items have sauce, some don't, some are spicy, some aren't, so why pour the same sauce over all types of meat and serve them on one plate?). And what's special? The meat takes a very long time to come out; each time you order, it takes 30 minutes to bring out one plate. We sat for 2.5 hours and the meat came out about 4-5 times, each time a plate with about 5-10 pieces of meat. With 8 people total, with that amount of meat, we didn't eat until we were full—we got full from waiting so long? Does the owner of Yen really consider this a business philosophy? To make buffet customers unable to eat much meat by delaying service? Wow, that's just great! Not to mention most of the meat is very thick and large; customers have to cut it into small pieces and wait a long time for it to cook before eating. No one spends 3-4 hours eating grilled meat; mainly 2 hours is enough, and you should be full. Eating a buffet with such sparse meat is really bad. The staff don't seem very enthusiastic or sharp; maybe they're tired. But ordering a can of Pepsi and Heineken, they said the bar is preparing and we had to wait 20-40 minutes—can you guys actually make Pepsi and Heineken yourselves? Owner of Yen, if you read this comment, please think more about the restaurant's operations, because like this, regular customers won't dare to come back. Since Yen opened this model, it was very okay, and whenever we think of grilled meat buffet, we think of Yen, but this time we're quite disappointed.
Enthusiastic staff, delicious food
Spending money but feeling like I'm eating for free. Terrible experience eating buffet here. Are you afraid I’ll eat too much or what? Why does the food take so long to come out? Ordering just 1–2 dishes but had to remind them again and again. The staff clearly avoided our table because we were eating buffet and they didn’t want to be called to take orders. The food was bad, and the drinks were even worse — worse than street-side drinks. Ordered salmon: it took 20 minutes to bring out one bowl, and it had only 5 tiny slices. What were you even preparing? Ordered 2 dishes at the same time: still waited 20 minutes for each dish.
Delicious food, very quiet space🥰
Delicious food, attentive service
I advise everyone not to come here! I never write reviews because I myself work in the service industry, but this place has truly gone beyond my tolerance! First, we chose the buffet ticket, ordered very quickly, but when the food came out, it was a whole process. I thought the place was crowded so I could understand, but tables that came after us also ordered buffet and had their full dishes served, one dish at a time, each dish 15-20 minutes apart! I ordered salmon rice, and when it came out, it was cold and fishy. Next was the shrimp; I must say the shrimp seemed like it had been left out for 2-3 months. Not a bit of chewiness or shrimp flavor. The remaining dishes came out slowly and were cold. Second, I ordered 2 cans of beer. After waiting 20 minutes, we asked the staff, who said they would bring it, and we waited another 10 minutes before deciding to go to the bar to ask. When we got there, the staff were chilling and playing on their phones. So what are they working for??? I called the staff several times but was ignored! Third, the service must be said to be extremely poor. I rate the staff's work low; although it wasn't crowded, the staff hardly paid attention to customers calling! In short, it's not worth the money, a waste of time, the food is not good, and I repeat 10000000 times that the service is extremely poor!
delicious, good service, fresh raw food
The first experience was quite okay. I went for lunch. The eatery was quite crowded, but I found the atmosphere quite private and quiet. The staff supported me quite attentively from booking to payment. I ordered the 279k buffet combo. My impression is that it's mainly grilled meat, mostly pork and chicken. There's no sashimi, sushi is not very diverse but each portion is quite generous. Salad is good, sushi topped with shrimp egg is good. There's a dish similar to fried sticky rice, I forgot its name 😁, also quite tasty. Overall, I feel satisfied. Next time I'll try the other combo to experience sashimi 😊
Delicious food, enthusiastic staff, they also helped sing happy birthday to me. Thank you to the restaurant.
The food is tasty and generous. The staff are enthusiastic and cheerful. Especially you Kha, sang birthday very loudly. Happy happy 🎉🎉🎉
Cute shop, delicious food, cheerful and enthusiastic staff, especially Uyen and Quynh who served attentively and enthusiastically 😇😇😇
Delicious food eatery, enthusiastic staff :3
Delicious, great atmosphere, service okay! Celebrated a birthday here!
Extremely friendly staff Beautiful view of the restaurant Food is great
An extremely bad experience here. The table was reserved, but the service and attitude were extremely poor. There were pieces of toothpick in the sauce, and the food was served very slowly. The staff did not assist, there were no side dishes (ordered the buffet package), no bowls, plates, vegetables, or grilling tongs. They just threw two items on the table for customers to look at. I have been here many times, but this time I am really disappointed with all the customer service processes.
After many times coming back to eat, this time the experience was extremely bad. Ordered food but it took a very long time to come out, had to ask many times before they brought the dishes. Went with a large group but each time they brought out very small portions, as if they were afraid customers wouldn't finish. The menu changed prices but the service quality and food were poor.
Japanese-style BBQ set, fresh meat, well-marinated, fragrant when grilled. The dipping sauce is rich, authentically Japanese without being mixed. The space is cozy, decor is refined, very suitable for small group dining or dates. Staff are polite, quick, attentive without being intrusive.
