Tra Que Vegetable Village Nestled along the gentle Co Co River is the lush green Tra Que Vegetable Village. Located about 3km northeast of Hoi An city center, it covers an area of up to 40 hectares. Local households practice crop rotation and intercropping of more than 20 different types of leafy vegetables and herbs; it is considered the largest vegetable hub in the Quang Nam - Da Nang region. It specializes in providing a year-round supply of fresh, clean, organic-standard vegetables and is also a unique destination not to be missed when traveling to Hoi An. Tra Que Vegetable Village has a history of over 300 years. In its early days, the village grew many types of aromatic herbs, including one called Nhu Que, which had a strong cinnamon fragrance. In the 19th century, King Gia Long visited and was impressed by the flavor of the vegetables here, so he named the village Tra Que. That name has been passed down and used to this day.
I had a wonderful experience at Tra Que Vegetable Village Restaurant, a quite special tourism model in Hoi An. The tour started with cycling from the ancient town center to Tra Que vegetable village, which was not only fun but also helped us feel the fresh air and surrounding scenery. Upon arrival, we were guided on how to grow clean vegetables using traditional methods, without chemicals. Notably, all the vegetables here are fresh, delicious, and lush green. After the gardening part, we experienced making local specialties such as bánh xèo in an open kitchen space, learning and practicing at the same time, which was really enjoyable. The final meal with dishes we made ourselves along with Tra Que garden vegetables was truly unforgettable. The food was delicious, fresh, and rich in Vietnamese flavors. The staff and local people here are very friendly and hospitable, making everyone feel welcomed as part of the community. Tra Que Vegetable Village Restaurant is not just a great meal but also a profound cultural experience. I highly recommend trying this tour to get a closer look at rural life and Vietnamese cuisine. A must-visit destination when coming to Hoi An!

Tra Que Vegetable Village, growing vegetables for tourists to visit, lush green vegetable beds, straight rows interspersed with gladiolus flower beds. In the middle is a clean brick-paved path. Around there is a chill cafe with a view of the vegetable fields. Looking from the Slow Cafe, the scenery is green, cool, and gentle.

The first time I came here, the atmosphere and the people left a strong impression on me. Although I am from Da Nang, participating in the experience with international tourists was very interesting. I felt a sense of simplicity and rusticity, as if stepping out of poetry. The scenery, the farmers, and the food service were all excellent.

All the vegetables are very fresh and fragrant, more fragrant than vegetables in the city. Tam huu, salad, and eggplant are delicious. Quang noodles are a bit sweet. Sitting next to the vegetable field, the wind blows cool.

After 4 years in Hoi An and more than 10 years away, I finally visited Tra Que vegetable village today. The vegetables here are fresh and lush, with many types such as basil, mint, amaranth, Malabar spinach, pennywort, bitter herbs, perilla, lettuce, green onions, etc., as well as bottle gourd, pumpkin, luffa, papaya. The locals are friendly.
