The Son Bistro – Vietnamese Restaurant, Craft Beer & Bar

My friend and I stumbled upon this spot by chance while strolling the old quarter for a place to grab drinks on the second day of Lunar New Year. We just wanted drinks, but ended up getting fish and chips too. We were suprised that the drinks are good, but the food was also solid, and the prices were fair—no inflated costs or surcharges for the holiday. We were also really impressed with the service. An and two other staff members took care of us. They were all so friendly and attentive, especially the one with the beaming smile even asking if we had any specific requests beyond the usual options, even though we were only ordering a small dish. Overall, it was a great experience. Tụi mình tình cờ ghé quán sau khi đi dạo phố cổ tối mồng hai Tết do muốn tìm một quán nước nhưng sau buồn miệng lại gọi thêm một món ăn nhẹ. Nước ổn, đồ ăn ngon, giá cũng không tăng hay phụ phí Tết. Tụi mình được phục vụ bởi 3 bạn, An với 2 bạn nam nữa thì phải. Các bạn đều siêu nhiệt tình và chu đáo, đặc biệt là bạn nam đeo kính hay cười mà mình quên hỏi tên mất ạ. Tụi mình chỉ order có 1 món thui mà bạn ý gợi ý cho bọn mình là cần cái này cái kia không cá cần giòn hay mềm đồ gì không nữa. Nói chung là cũng đáng ghé quán nha ạ.

While exploring the old town, I stopped by this place after getting tired of traditional food. I visited without any prior research or reservation, and it was truly the best. ☺️ We ordered seafood pizza and grilled shrimp, and they were really delicious. For cocktails, we ordered two glasses of the signature menu recommended by the staff, and they were also excellent! The street where the restaurant is located is very charming, and with the performances added to the mix, it might be no wonder the food tasted so good. All the staff were friendly in their service too. 🙏 If you want to experience the true value of this place, I recommend enjoying it at an outdoor table at night. I think this will remain a really wonderful memory!!

The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious too. We ordered 5 dishes, 2 drinks, and 1 beer, and it came out to a little over 50,000 won. Still, the food was really tasty and the staff were so friendly that I'm very satisfied!! Thank you to the staff member Juan who guided us.

I like how the restaurant decorates for Tet with brilliant red flags, very traditional yet modern. The corner of the street where the restaurant hangs flags is very popular, many people come to check in, so the atmosphere is bustling and cheerful. I also managed to squeeze in a few photos, they turned out super pretty. Next time, I will definitely bring my family to experience it!

I tried the pizza at The Son Bistro and must say it was beyond expectations! The crust was exactly to my taste, the toppings were generous, and I fell in love with it right away—it wasn't greasy either. The pizza was piping hot, fragrant when served, and paired with a cocktail, it was absolutely perfect. Definitely worth a try!

If you like taking aesthetic photos, The Son Bistro is a must-visit destination! The shop is beautifully decorated in every corner, from the lanterns, tables and chairs, to the vintage-style walls—every spot is photogenic. I took dozens of photos in the outdoor area; the view in front of the shop and the intersection right at The Son is stunningly beautiful, with gorgeous, sparkling pictures.

The staff at The Son Bistro are extremely lovely and enthusiastic! I went there on a busy evening, yet everyone was smiling, serving quickly and warmly. When I asked about the dishes, they advised me very thoroughly and even suggested dishes that suited my taste. Overall, it was a very complete and delicious meal, with reasonable prices compared to the cost in Hoi An.

An interesting bar. I went there for 2 nights. Cocktails and fruit juice at reasonable prices. Good and spontaneous music. If you're lucky, you can hear the đàn Nhị (two-stringed fiddle). The owner is kind and hospitable.

On the occasion of visiting the old town, I stopped by The Son Bistro based on reviews and enjoyed a glass of Lion King beer. It really suited my taste, the food was delicious, beautifully presented, the atmosphere was very comfortable, sitting at The Son watching the street was very healing.

I asked more about the dishes, and they not only answered enthusiastically but also suggested dishes that suited my taste — that made the experience even more wonderful. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the prices were reasonable compared to the general level in Hoi An. I will definitely come back again!

I also tried the mì vằn thánh here, the broth was clear and sweet, the toppings were generous, very worth trying.
