Near the traffic light intersection, the eatery serves clam porridge and rib porridge. The clam porridge has plenty of clams, while the rib porridge has one long rib. 30k per serving, quite tasty actually, it filled me up enough to reach Măng Đen 😁
I went to the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, so it was quite crowded with tourists. I ate clam porridge with mung beans and a spoon. It was okay, nothing special, probably because I'm a local. Just then the porridge ran out, so I had to wait, and by the time it came I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture 😆
Delicious, very delicious, 10/10, you should come and try it.
Hot clam porridge, clams are quite fresh, lots of toppings, especially fragrant fried shallots and large, tender ribs, the porridge broth is not too strong. The eatery is crowded so the atmosphere is lively, sometimes you have to share tables and it's a bit cramped. The space is casual, wooden tables close together, typical of a bustling late-night eatery. Suitable for those who like the feeling of a crowded local eatery, eating hot on-site (takeaway is also fine).
Delicious and worth trying
I like the ribs here, they are delicious. Actually, in Hoi An there are many eateries selling this dish, everyone chooses according to their taste and requirements. The attitude of the staff here is okay, the frontage on the street is easy to visit.
A delicious and quality clam porridge eatery with reasonable prices, worth trying when visiting Hoi An.
Specialty porridge shop in Hoi An, near An Bang beach. I chose Sau Bieu because it's convenient on the way to the old town - the shop is very crowded during breakfast and lunch hours, seating is comfortable right on the street but it will be a bit noisy and dusty. The clam porridge is generous, slightly watery but delicious, with plenty of large clams. There is an option to add pork trotters and pork ribs, which is also quite okay. There are also rice crackers to eat with mixed clams, a unique taste. Everyone should try it, the price is very reasonable for a local eatery.
The clam and rib porridge is truly captivating, incredibly delicious. The ribs are tender and sweet, the porridge is fragrant and sweet from the clams, pepper, and garlic chili fish sauce. Sitting to eat in the sun and the Central wind, it's still incredibly delicious 😍

Delicious porridge. The eatery is always crowded. Prices are reasonable. They have a separate Pork Rib porridge for those who don't like clams. I went to eat during this period when Hoi An is hot, so the eatery is also hot. The eatery should improve the restroom a bit; it would be better.
People often eat at Co Gio's eatery, but I usually eat at this place. My taste buds are not too refined, so I find the food delicious. But importantly, the eatery is much cleaner and has parking space. Going to the beach area is too tiring.
Favorite breakfast dish every time I come to Hoi An.

Recommend eating here, cheap and delicious
This is my first time traveling from Saigon to Da Nang for work, and since it's the weekend, I asked my female colleague to take me to a place near Hoi An to hang out. It was already 1 PM, so we two ladies stopped by a clam porridge eatery to eat. At first, I heard that Co Gio is famous, but oh dear, looking into the shop, I saw 30 people still waiting in a stuffy atmosphere and the tables and chairs were also shabby. So I immediately turned to Sau Bieu's clam porridge shop; my colleague said that the shops sell equally delicious food, but this one opened later, so I turned here. First time visiting, I found the premises quite okay, the wooden tables and chairs looked very clean, the seating was cool because of the tiled roof, the shop owner also filled the food quickly, the chili dip was also good, just the right kind of Quang Nam-style candied chili that sticks well. The clam porridge was extremely sweet and fresh with lots of clams, the clam salad eaten with banh da (here they call it banh trang) was very delicious. I find the banh da here much tastier than in Saigon. If you have a chance, come here to try the experience, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Two of us ate 2 bowls of porridge + 1 plate of clam salad + 2 rice papers, and we were full, but it only cost 100k, super cheap, worth trying!
The only downside is it's a bit hot, but the clam porridge is excellent.
The porridge is still delicious, maybe because the eatery is crowded so they ran out of ribs and the clams are a bit fewer? Compared to last year, the eatery is decorated nicely and more crowded. Service is very fast and cheerful. The eatery is at an easy-to-see intersection, a bit noisy.

The porridge is easy to eat, the ribs are super tender, the clams are flavorful, after eating the porridge remember to drink ginger tea to soothe the stomach.
