About
Bánh mì Phượng is famous in Hội An for its crispy-crusted bread, diverse fillings from mixed to beef with cheese, and rich, savory sauce. The spacious shop has an airy upper-floor seating area and is always packed with tourists and locals alike. Prices range from 30,000 to 40,000 VND per loaf, and service is fast, though there may be a wait during peak hours.

Great Banh Mi.
Great sandwiches made famous by the man himself, Anthony Bourdain. Waiter was awesome and we even bought some chili sauce to take back home. Good prices with AC and some drinks. Check it out and though it’s packed there is little to no wait for the food.
I think the place a bit overrated due to fact that Anthony Bourdain came here. The lines were long however the service was fast but i found flavours underwhelming. There are way better places for Banh Mi across Hoi An/ Danang!!
What more can I say, Anthony Bourdain liked it for a reason. Quickly got a table for 5 so got lucky there. Service was fast and very helpful. Then the food, I could eat here everyday. Exceptional and very affordable. Would recommend
Best banh mi in hoi an
Very tasty banh mi. It’s a famous and very popular place, frequented by both locals and tourists.
We went there twice when we visited Hoi An. Servers spoke English and attentive. Fresh and delicious sandwiches. Must visit in Hoi An.
In Hoi An, you'll see a long line at a famous banh mi shop. The price has increased from before to about 40,000 dong. There are many varieties. First, order and pay at the register, then you get a number ticket and are called by number. Many people take out, but this time I ate in. Going up to the second floor, there were plenty of seats, and I sat down comfortably (#^.^#). The bread was crispy, and there were lots of fillings!! Crunchy grilled meat and plenty of vegetables. It was a voluminous banh mi and delicious (≧∀≦).
The refreshing, slightly spicy taste is absolutely wonderful! The Hoi An Vietnamese baguette has won my heart. This time, I visited the famous "Bánh Mì Phượng," and their Vietnamese baguette truly feels refreshing! Unlike the style in Ho Chi Minh City, where sauces and meats intertwine with a heavier, oilier flavor, the seasoning here takes a light, fragrant, and slightly spicy route. With one bite, the crispy crust of the bread paired with just the right amount of light toppings leaves no greasy burden; instead, it becomes more fragrant as you chew. If you also prefer this fresh, layered, and non-greasy flavor, you must come and try it yourself when you visit Hoi An. Highly recommended!
Absolutely incredible! I've eaten at over 20 bread spots in Vietnam, and Bami Phượng is on top. They have plenty of seating, including a huge second floor that fits about 100 guests. 20-30 minute wait during rush hours, but you'll be happy the moment you take the first bite. I normally skip the bread crust, but here it was so crispy and flavorful that I finished every single crumb. I can eat two at a time, will come back tomorrow with buddies🐰
Beef cheeseburger with egg is really delicious, but you have to wait a long time.
I visited Bánh mì Phượng because it is a very famous brand and also a pride of Hội An. As someone who loves and always supports local brands, I was also very excited to experience it. According to my personal taste, I find the bread is okay but not really special or delicious as I expected after hearing many praises. However, I understand that everyone's taste is different, so this is just my own feeling. The plus point is that the shop serves quite fast despite the large number of customers, the ingredients are generous, and the bread-making process is professional. I still greatly appreciate the brands that have contributed to bringing the image of Hội An cuisine to domestic and international tourists. I hope next time I return, I will have a different experience and perhaps find a bread that suits my taste better.
Oh, my beloved banh mi shop. Even though I know the shop has had a few incidents (still following the shop), but it's delicious, that flavor of tuna stir-fried with bell peppers and seaweed is captivating <3
Overrated, mostly eaten by foreigners, but it's just average, not delicious. After the food poisoning incident, it hasn't been shut down, so I tried eating there again. It's crowded, the wait is long, but the staff are slow and just putting on a show. When filling the ingredients, they keep taking them out and putting them back in. There are many staff, but they're not working; they just stand around back and forth. It's exhausting. Vietnamese people find it not tasty.
Very tasty and fresh sandwich, they bake the baguette on site so it takes time. Long wait.
Very tasty Banh mi, the most delicious we've eaten in Vietnam. We took one with ostrich, an interesting combination of spicy herbs and meat. The atmosphere is typical Vietnamese, a bit trashy in the hall, but they clean up. To avoid standing in line outside, sit in the hall, where a waiter will take your order.
Food is okay, wait is long
I arrived around 8pm and it was still very crowded, with a line stretching the whole street, both Westerners and locals. But the eatery works fast; it only took 5 minutes to get the bánh because someone came out to take orders in advance and gave out numbers very professionally. The bánh is delicious in the Central style, the meat is fragrant, the sauce is sweet and mildly spicy, suitable for both children and adults. The eatery is located on the walking street, everyone. I will come back every time I visit Hoi An.
Long hot queue, food not tasty and too expensive at 40k, sparse. Not as good as Hanoi bread at 25k, full and stuffed.
Delicious without surprise
Delicious bread, but you have to queue by number.
The attitude of the seller is very uncultured. There were 2 foreign customers waiting too long, perhaps they missed their number without knowing, and their waiting eyes looked very hopeless. Then the male customer took the ticket out, not knowing the language. I took the ticket and spoke helpfully and politely in Vietnamese. The female seller showed a very annoyed attitude and said to me, roughly meaning 'I handle their table, YOU MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.' At 7 PM on June 21, 2026, the owner can check the camera.
Crowded, delicious, because I went on Sunday, I had to queue quite a long time to buy.
40k/piece, it's okay to eat. Mainly sold to tourists, long queues. Locals don't eat here.
