Da Nang Learns from the Netherlands and Russia on Urban and Port Development
Da Nang recently sent a delegation of leaders to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Russian Federation to study advanced development models, aiming to build a smart and sustainable city. The working trip lasted from June 3 to June 10 and was led by Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam.
During the visit, the delegation worked with foreign partners to exchange experiences on urban planning, public transportation, logistics development, and seaport systems. In particular, climate change adaptation was highlighted as a top priority, especially as Da Nang faces risks of flooding and sea-level rise. Lessons from the Netherlands—a country strong in water management—will help the city refine its flood prevention strategy and develop green infrastructure.
In the field of seaports and logistics, Russia is a promising partner with extensive experience in deep-water port operations and supply chains. This cooperation promises to enhance the competitiveness of Tien Sa Port and Da Nang's coastal economic zones. Through direct meetings, both sides agreed on specific cooperation directions for the coming period.
The trip affirms the city government's determination to learn from outstanding international models and apply them appropriately to local conditions. Residents and visitors can look forward to a Da Nang that is increasingly modern, green, and more livable thanks to these cooperative efforts.
