Search Volume for Vietnam Tourism from China Increases Over 160%

A positive signal for Vietnam's tourism industry has been recorded: searches for accommodation in the country by Chinese tourists in the first five months of 2026 increased by more than 160% compared to the same period last year. This is the highest growth rate in Southeast Asia, surpassing Indonesia and the Philippines – two destinations that also saw rising interest from the billion-strong market.

This search surge indicates that Chinese tourists are gradually returning after a long period of travel restrictions. Demand for flight and accommodation bookings is rising sharply in key tourist cities, with Da Nang – boasting long beaches, luxury resorts, and numerous cultural attractions – considered one of the most popular destinations. Additionally, direct flights connecting many Chinese cities with Da Nang are also boosting visitor numbers.

This is an opportunity for tourism businesses in Da Nang and the central provinces to prepare for the upcoming wave of Chinese tourists in the summer and at the end of the year.
