Da Nang Promotes Comprehensive Cooperation with Genoa (Italy) on Marine Economy and Education

Within the framework of a working trip to the Italian Republic, on the morning of June 16 (local time), a delegation of Da Nang city leaders led by Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh met with partners in the city of Genoa – a locality that established friendly and cooperative relations with Da Nang in January 2025. The visit aims to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.

At the meeting, the two sides focused on discussing cooperation opportunities in three main areas: marine economy, education and training, and urban planning. These are strengths of Genoa – an ancient port city with a developed maritime economy. Da Nang hopes to learn from Genoa’s experience in port management, marine tourism development, and related economic sectors.

Regarding education, the two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation between universities, student and faculty exchanges, as well as developing in-depth training programs in marine economy and urban management. At the same time, the field of urban planning received special attention, as Genoa has valuable experience in combining historical heritage preservation with modern infrastructure development. This activity promises to bring many new opportunities for the sustainable development of Da Nang in the future.
