Da Nang Japan-Vietnam Festival 2026: The Biggest Cultural Exchange Event This Summer
The Da Nang Japan-Vietnam Festival 2026 will officially take place from July 9 to 12, 2026, at Bien Dong Park in An Hai Ward, Da Nang, along with several other locations across the city. This is a large-scale annual event, held since 2014, aimed at promoting cultural exchange and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
As part of the festival, Bien Dong Park will become a space featuring around 100 booths showcasing the culture, cuisine, tourism, and products of both Vietnam and Japan. Visitors can enjoy artistic performances blending tradition and modernity, with the participation of artists such as Isaac, Thai Ngan, Kolme, Anirocks, along with numerous dance groups, cosplay acts, and bamboo pole dancing. Activities like Bon Odori dancing and V-JPOP freestyle dancing also promise to bring a vibrant atmosphere to attendees.
In addition to cultural programs, the festival will organize various sports exchange activities, including a friendly football match featuring SHB Da Nang, youth football exchanges, a first-ever baseball experience in Da Nang, traditional martial arts demonstrations, and a marathon along the coast. Notably, Japanese Olympic judo athletes Misato Nakamura and Ai Tachimoto will hold a talk about sportsmanship and cultural exchange.
Regarding the conference segment, on July 9, a seminar themed "Meeting Japan in Da Nang: Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Towards a Sustainable Future" will take place at the Nesta Celia Da Nang hotel. The event will gather representatives from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese Embassy, sister cities, and businesses from both countries. A signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding between Da Nang and Kinokawa City (Wakayama Prefecture) is expected, along with several other agreements in the fields of culture and tourism. The Japanese delegation will also visit Da Nang's high-tech zones, software parks, and international financial center.
