Da Nang partners with ICCROM to preserve and promote cultural heritage
On the afternoon of June 12, a delegation from Da Nang City led by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh held a working session with representatives of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM). This meeting opened a new direction for cooperation in the field of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values within the city.
ICCROM is a globally prestigious intergovernmental organization that supports countries in protecting cultural heritage. Da Nang's approach to ICCROM demonstrates its special concern for preserving tangible and intangible cultural values. The two sides discussed the possibility of building a long-term cooperation mechanism, including human resource training, scientific research, and the application of modern technology in conservation work.
Da Nang possesses many historical relics, scenic spots, and distinctive folk cultural heritage. Support from ICCROM will help the city enhance its heritage management capacity, while also creating opportunities to promote the local cultural image to the world. This is also a chance for Da Nang to learn from countries with extensive experience in heritage preservation, thereby developing sustainable cultural tourism.
