Digital Twin and the Data Integration Challenge in Da Nang's Smart City
Da Nang has set a target for its digital economy to account for about 40% of GRDP and to rank among the world's top 50 smart cities by 2030. To achieve this, urban digital twin technology is being assessed by experts as a crucial platform, helping the city simulate, analyze, and optimize management operations.
However, the biggest challenge today is how to integrate data from multiple sources to create an accurate and effective digital twin. Fragmented and unsynchronized data across departments and agencies is a major barrier. Building a unified data system with the ability to connect and share will determine the success of the smart city model in Da Nang.
With strong investment in digital infrastructure and e-government, Da Nang is gradually addressing these difficulties. The city expects that when digital twin technology is deployed synchronously, it will not only improve the quality of urban management but also boost the digital economy, attract investment, and enhance residents' quality of life.
