No say luôn
I’m so glad I came to this restaurant even though it only has a 4.2/5 star rating on Google Maps. I’ve eaten at 10 different pho restaurants around Da Nang and this one is in the top 3 for me by a long distance. I was blown away by the tenderness of the brisket and filet, by the plump and non-mushiness of the noodles, by the subtle broth that was on-fishy and had well-timed hints of star anise and cinnamon on the backend. And the chili paste they serve here is on par with the greats of this city. It is not sweet—it is the true, gritty spicy kind that has a slight tang. Add that, plus lime, tons of basil, and a dash of soy sauce—you’re on cloud 9! I spent 80,000 VND (~ $3 USD) for one of the best bowls of pho (plus a water bottle) that I’ve ever had.
This place has become my favorite spot for pho 🍜 Whenever I want something quick, healthy, and high in protein, I come here. The pho is honestly the best I’ve had in the city. The broth is rich and flavorful, and they always give a lot of fresh herbs, which I love. I usually order extra meat and it’s always great. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. I come here so often that the owners recognize me now, the kids say hi, and even the dogs know me. It really feels like a little neighborhood place. I’m honestly surprised this place doesn’t have perfect ratings everywhere, because the food is amazing. If you like pho, you definitely need to try it.
Recently, I had the pleasure of trying a bowl of authentic Vietnamese Pho, and this classic dish left me truly amazed. As a foreigner, my love for this dish exceeded all expectations. Here’s my review. The broth of this Pho was rich yet clear, bursting with aroma. It combined the essence of beef bones and spices, making each sip comforting and satisfying. Every mouthful released a natural fragrance that was simply irresistible. The rice noodles were smooth and tender, soaking up the delicious broth. The thinly sliced beef was juicy and succulent, complemented by fresh cilantro and green onions that added a refreshing crunch. A squeeze of fresh lime and a touch of chili further enriched the flavors of the dish. The restaurant had a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, with simple decor that reflected Vietnamese culture. The staff were warm and friendly, providing clear explanations of each dish on the menu, making it easy for me to navigate as a foreigner. This bowl of authentic Vietnamese Pho was absolutely delicious and deepened my fascination with Vietnamese cuisine. If you’re a foreigner who hasn’t tried Pho yet, it’s a must-try! It’s not just a bowl of noodles; it’s a cultural experience that embodies the warmth and beauty of Vietnam. I can’t wait to come back for another bowl!
Chanced upon this. Affordable and good food. Love the variety in one bowl! Definitely need to try the pork balls! Came back 2 times in 5 days. Oh the coconut is damn good as well 30k (SGD2) for a mega sweet one.
Recommended my our Grab driver. He said this restaurant is 30 yr old and he takes his family there to eat. We ordered 2 pho with beef, pork ball and egg , and 1 pho with chicken egg and pork balls. The pork balls are amazing, tender and good flavour. My partner said it is the best pork balls he ever had. The soup is clear broth and has a good amount of umami flav. The best pho I had in Vietnam so far (10days ).
Nice, clean and reasonably priced but....
Based on other TripAdvisor postings on where to get the pho in Danang, my wife and I took a cab (not cheap in Vietnam) from Man Thai b school area to this place, which is easy to locate along Dong Da street. Menu and posters are pasted on the wall with photos of selection offered, in both Vietnamese and English. And, the smiley and friendly demeanor of the Manager/Owner who speaks English will help take your order and make you feel welcomed straightaway. Starved from just too many experiences of plain and rather stringy and hard-to-chew beef Pho elsewhere (we had already been in Danang five days with a daily dosage of pho), we ordered the mixed pho, which included pork ball and raw eggs. The fatter category of beef slices was unavailable that day. Though tasty, we regret to conclude that, overall, the pho's broth was just "okay" but not something to rave not write home about. The prices, though, at Pho Back 63 are fixed as posted. They are honestly very reasonable. In fact, they are most likely cheaper than most, and compared to the two roadside pavement (don't look at where the dishes are washed ) stalls I had eaten ate earlier in Hanoi. You can be charged 50k by street sellers when Vietmese locals pay 30 VND. Even a Chinese Singaporean like me, who can mutter a few words in Vietnamese, I obviously stand out like a sore thumb and got fleeced at places that sell things, food and offer services with no fixed prices displayed. All said, I would definitely day "yes" and recommend you try Pho Bac 63. It is a safe bet, if you are not fussy nor have eaten great pho at other places within and outside of Vietnam. Enjoy!!
Tasty with a flavorful broth; solid choice for pho
This is a pretty solid choice if you have want some affordable pho. 50,000 dong will get you a large bowl with beef and an egg if you desire. The broth had good flavor, but I’ve had better beef in other pho. Nonetheless it was tasty and a great option. Staff was quick, efficient, and friendly. Be sure to add the greens and hot sauce :)
Good Pho in Danang
The Beef, Pho and the soup are great! Just some flies and the floor is quite dirty. But definitely one of the best cheap-eats in Danang.
Yummy PHO!
The soup of the pho is rich! The meat is excellent. Staffs are nice even they can't speak English, they are willing to help. Its cheap! VND50k for a big bowl of pho with all the meats and an egg. Recommended to try!
Amazing pho
Best authentic pho in Danang! Superb! Local experience! Located in the heart of danang city, the staff are so nice and accomodating. Food is so fast and tasty. Even though the staff might not speak English, the menus have English. Don't eat pho in a hotel, come here
