Nearly 300 Athletes Converge at East Sea Park for SUNRISE SPRINT Short-Distance Triathlon

On the morning of May 9, the East Sea Park area came alive as nearly 300 athletes from multiple countries and provinces across Vietnam gathered to compete in the SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam 2026 short-distance triathlon. The event is one of several activities taking place as part of IRONMAN Week, currently underway in Da Nang.

Unlike the main IRONMAN competition — renowned for its grueling intensity and long distances — the SUNRISE SPRINT is designed for shorter distances, making it accessible to a wide range of participants, from seasoned professionals to casual amateurs. That accessibility helps explain the event's diverse turnout, which included many first-timers taking on the challenge of swimming, cycling, and running combined.

Da Nang's beachfront has long been an ideal venue for outdoor sporting events, thanks to its favorable natural conditions and steadily improving infrastructure. With a full week of back-to-back IRONMAN events, the city is demonstrating its capacity to host large-scale international competitions while treating both visitors and locals to an exciting experience right by the sea.
