New Community Restroom Facility Inaugurated in Da Nang's Highland Commune
In mid-May, a community restroom facility was officially inaugurated in Song Kon Commune, within the administrative boundaries of Da Nang. The project is the result of a collaboration between Hope Foundation and the Song Kon Commune People's Committee, aimed at improving living conditions for local residents — particularly ethnic minority communities in the area.
The facility carries real practical significance, as many highland villages still lack access to standard sanitation infrastructure. Having a clean, properly built public restroom not only raises the quality of daily life but also helps protect community health and reduce the risk of disease spreading through the environment.
For visitors and those interested in responsible tourism across Central Vietnam, community support projects like this reflect the efforts of both the private sector and civil society organizations to bridge the gap between urban centers and remote areas. Song Kon is one of the mountainous communes in Dong Giang District, a place with considerable potential for community-based tourism rooted in the cultural identity of the Co Tu people.
